Summer programs

Does your child love to sing? Are they naturally vocally expressive, or on the quieter side, yet light up when they hear their favorite songs? Then The Full Voice summer camp is for you! In this 4-day program, Ms. Jenny and her class of budding singers will explore the most ancient instrument, the voice, in a supported & expansive musical environment. Chock full of activities, lessons, & songs designed to ignite the developing child’s center of expression, The Full Voice curriculum provides a wonderful framework for early music education. Developed by voice pedagogue & educator Nikki Loney, The Full Voice contains sound learning material which has been fine-tuned and backed by 15+ years of research. Much of this research demonstrates how singing & practicing skills such as pitch matching, iteration of scales, improvisation, sight singing, reading music & more from a young age equip the child with an enhanced understanding of the world around them. This experience also prepares them for future musical endeavors such as private lessons, musical ensembles & performance. 

Highlights of the program will include high-energy vocal warm ups, introduction to music theory, improv games, singing yoga, learning exciting songs, and breathing techniques to instill emotional regulation, mindfulness & coordination of the body for singing. Ms. Jenny is an active opera singer & researcher in the Greater Denver Metro & Evergreen area, and teaches in her private voice studio at Evergreen Conservatory. Recommended for kids from ages 6-9.

Alpine Beginner String Ensemble 

-Chamber music group for beginning violin, viola, cello, bass students

Ponderosa Intermediate String Ensemble 

-Chamber music group for intermediate violin, viola, cello, bass students 

Summit Symphonic Ensemble 

-Intermediate level full orchestra for strings (violin, viola, cello, bass), woodwinds (flute, clarinet, saxophone) and brass (trumpet, trombone, baritone) students

Our summer orchestra programs include:

-bi-weekly group rehearsals

-continued learning/growth in the areas of: aural training, note reading, music theory, instrumental technique, ensemble balance, performance etiquette 

-study of a wide variety of musical repertoire/styles

-end of session performance!

All participants are invited to the Day with NRO event at the Conservatory as well as other summer events!
