The Full Voice group class incorporates the Full Voice curriculum developed by professional vocalist and longtime teacher Nikki Loney. The Full Voice curriculum introduces young singers to foundational concepts in music such as theory, rhythm, ear training, sight singing and more. In this class we will explore learning music in fun and innovative ways that will keep your child not only excited and engaged, but empowered to express themselves! We will utilize movement such as dancing & stretching throughout class to get bodies and minds active and ready to learn. Students will have a chance to play games that emphasize key musical ideas, learn songs, sing in class, practice breathing with bubbles, interact with other young musicians, and improve their understanding of music in the world. Through singing and musical experience in the Full Voice group class, you can expect your child to have an expanded sense of self-confidence, happiness, ability to learn, artistic expression, awareness of music, and social development. Each student is recommended to purchase the FULL VOICE Workbook - Introductory Level so that students can participate in completing workbook exercises and reading through lessons in class. We will learn one kid-friendly song each week and talk about what we hear to support both critical thinking skills and a mind-body connection. This class is recommended for kids from 6 to 9 to foster a solid introduction to music education and singing.
Introductory LEVEL
This level was specifically developed for young students ages 6-9 who are brand new to music lessons. Concepts are introduced slowly with plenty of reviews. There are many different types of activities that encourage young students to build their confidence.
Highlights of each lesson:
Vocal Warm-Ups and Technical Exercises to encourage students to follow the music on the page.
During the warmups we use:
- solfège activities
- tongue twisters
- scales, triads, and arpeggios
- minor triads and scales
- chromatic exercises
- seasonal singing activities
Sight Singing is Fun! Okay, that was a lie. Learning to read music takes time and effort and it can easily overwhelm young singers. Our beginner-friendly singing activities allow students to develop music reading skills and become confident, independent singers. Enjoyable and easy-to-complete activities include:
- solfege/sol-fa singing exercises
- clapping and counting rhythms
- note name reading on the treble staff
- singing and identifying intervals
- beginner sight singing exercises in C major
- flashcards for more fun games and activities
Songs and materials we use during our classes

- Lyric and vocal exploration pages for engaging productive lessons
- Professional backing tracks with and without melody guide
